Meet Dr Felicity Dent

(She/Her)

Specialist Women’s Health General Practitioner

MBBS, FRACGP, CSCT, Cert Sexual & Reproductive Health

Felicity was born in Footscray and grew up in Melbourne’s western suburbs. After graduating from the University of Melbourne in 1996 she worked and trained locally and overseas, developing a strong and enduring commitment to women’s health.

She completed her General Practice training in 2003, recognising that primary care offered the ideal setting to practise holistic, relationship-based medicine. Felicity is deeply committed to supporting women not only in understanding their physical symptoms, but also in exploring the emotional, relational and social contexts that shape their health. She values diversity in all its forms and brings this perspective into her daily work.

Throughout her career, Felicity has worked with girls and women across a range of clinical settings, including General Practice, specialised sexual & reproductive health services, mental health services, custodial health, and the Sunshine Hospital Antenatal Clinic. She is also a passionate educator, working as a Senior Medical Educator with the RACGP and serving on the board of Pelvic Pain Victoria.

Clinically, Felicity has a particular interest in supporting women who live with persistent pelvic pain, helping them navigate it’s complexities and build their confidence in managing this often under-recognised and underfunded condition. She also provides pregnancy care as a Shared Maternity Care provider with local hospitals and is trained in the insertion of IUDs (Mirena, Kyleena, copper) and implanon.

Felicity consults at Maxwell Medical Group on Mondays and is currently welcoming new patients whose primary concern is Women’s health.

Outside of medicine, Felicity is a passionate feminist who enjoys great chats, labradors, native flowers, the ocean, and words in all their forms. She hopes one day to read all the books she buys, and perhaps even write one!
